
Edward M. Wolin, MD is Co-Director of the Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumor Program, an attending physician with offices in the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center and a member of the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center at Cedars-Sinai. He has clinical expertise and research experience in the treatment of many types of cancer, including breast cancer, carcinoid / neuroendocrine tumors, lymphoma, ovarian cancer and tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs. He also has expertise in autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation. Dr. Wolin has been practicing oncology for over twenty-five years.
Before coming to Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Wolin was Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Director of the Oncology Program at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Dr. Wolin was a clinical associate with the Metabolism Branch of the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health. He is board certified in both internal medicine and medical oncology.
A diplomate with the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Wolin has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Pharmacotherapy, Adjuvant Therapy of Cancer II, Developmental Biology, American Zoologist and Proceedings of the American Cancer Society of Clinical Oncology. He has also written book chapters in Surgical Oncology and Care of the Geriatric Patient.
Dr. Wolin is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Southern California Academy of Oncology, California Medical Association, Los Angeles County Medical Association, Southern California Lymphoma Group, Sigma Xi Honorary Scientific Research Society and Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Wolin received his bachelor's degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He completed his internship and residency, and also completed a fellowship in medical oncology at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Wolin received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine.
