A variety of support groups are available for persons who have cancer and their families. These include:
The Outpatient Cancer Center offers a variety of services to supplement the clinical and supportive services received by cancer patients and their families, including:
- Financial counseling to help patients and their families understand the medical insurance system. Individually, we analyze insurance coverage and discuss payment options. The Outpatient Cancer Center accepts all major insurance plans.
- Housing program coordinated by our social workers. We have established partnerships with local hotels to provide convenient housing to qualifying patients and family members who travel long distances. We also provide limited assistance for patients in extreme financial hardship. Eligibility is established after a careful financial screening by our social workers.
- Transportation Services. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center coordinates a low-fee local area van service, which is available to Outpatient Cancer Center patients without alternative means of traveling to the hospital for necessary medical care.
- The Outpatient Cancer Center also provides complimentary refreshments, and snacks are available throughout the facility.
