Mitchell Gross, MD, PhD

Medical Oncologist

Director, Experimental Therapeutics

Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center

Mitchell Gross, MD, PhD is Director of Experimental Therapeutics at the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). A licensed physician, Dr. Gross is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine with specialty certification in medical oncology.

Dr. Gross' research interest focuses on the molecular biology of prostate cancer development and progression. His previous research findings have been published in several prominent peer-reviewed publications, such as Oncogene, Blood and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Gross' research efforts merited the Amgen Fellowship Research Award, the AFLAC-AACR Scholar-in-Training Award and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Specialty Training Advanced Research Fellowship. At the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center, he leads clinical studies that will shorten the gap between laboratory investigation and the care for patients affected by prostate cancer.

Dr. Gross received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego, graduating with Highest Distinction in Biology. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was elected to the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his advanced medical training at UCLA, including a residency in internal medicine, a fellowship in hematology-medical oncology and a doctorate in molecular biology.
