David Fermelia, MD is a board certified general surgeon for Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and Cedars-Sinai Health Associates.
Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, Dr. Fermelia had been in private practice since 1989, following completion of his internship and residency training in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was the chief surgical resident at Cedars-Sinai from 1988 to 1989. Dr. Fermelia earned his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine and received his bachelor's degree, with honors, from the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Fermelia is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has written numerous articles for peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Fermelia is well regarded in the medical community, and has served on many committees at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center including peer-review committees and the Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Fermelia's main clinical interests are endocrine surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
