R. Kendrick Slate, MD

R. Kendrick Slate, MD is an attending physician at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) with offices in the Outpatient Cancer Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Dr. Slate is Director of Plastic Surgery for the CSMC Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center. His clinical expertise is in microsurgery, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery, with a specialization in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the breast.
Dr. Slate currently holds a faculty position as an assistant clinical professor for the Division of Plastic Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also the recipient of multiple honors and awards of excellence.
Dr. Slate completed his residency in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and his residency in plastic surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, New York University. Dr. Slate completed fellowships in craniofacial surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and in microsurgery at UCLA before joining the plastic surgery faculty at UCLA. Dr. Slate received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 1979.
