The residents are obligated to become involved in research under faculty advisor direction. They are required to have a topic selected by the end of their PGY-1 year and to give a preliminary presentation of their project by the beginning of their PGY-2 year. The residents present their projects at a "Residents Research Day" at the end of the third year.

As a graduation requirement, residents are expected to prepare a manuscript suitable for publication. Table 1 presents the number of resident research projects in the various areas of study in Ob/Gyn, and example topics from 1991 to 2007. Table 2a and Table 2b summarizes the academic achievements of our 4th residents during the 2007-2008 and 2006-2007 academic year.
